After continued efforts by doctors, mother and her family, medicine now will no longer be able deliver what is needed to save my mom for any kind of quality life in the future. Our family has been reaching this conclusion over the past three days, especially yesterday. Today we met with the doctors and concluded that there is no medical hope for the future. Therefore, we requested the hospital to remove her from life support this evening at 6PM. Her primary physician says that she will very likely pass within 24 hours afterwards. She could go within minutes or hours after removal of the life support systems. The ventilator and its hoses will be totally removed so that she can pass in better comfort. The dialyses will cease. Tomorrow is a scheduled dialysis day and she will not be put on it. I believe she will be moved this afternoon to a regular room, probably sometime after the final process starts at 6PM. We are working out the details with the funueral home in Glen Rose and reviewing her post-mortem Will today.
This posting is to communicate that this will happen today. We cannot predict when she will pass away.
Your prayers for her are appreciated. She has been a super granny, a super mom, and a super person. Our family will miss her in too many ways to say at this moment. We will be so sad to see her go, but we look forward to seeing her in the Kingdom of God. I cannot express how deeply we love her. In life there is death; in death there is life. Arrangements will be announced here. I have limited telephone numbers since I lost my cell phone last week, so if you do not get a call, please understand that it doeres not reflect how important you are to us, just the lack of phone number.
Please feel free to call me at 832-515-0236 or enter a comment on this blog or send me email if you wish to ask questions. God bless you all for your support and prayers during this very difficult time.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Your mother has been very blessed in her life to have children like each of you, so know how much she loves and thanks you for your lives and how you have chosen to live them.
Let me know if I can help, or can put anyone up coming to town.
much love and peace to each of you,
Karen Webb Hachman
You all have been and still are in my thoughts and prayers!
Edith was a super person to me and uplifted me with her positive attitudes and appreciation of my words to her!
May our Heavenly Father give her peace and your all peace and comfort!
Love, Lyn MacDougall
I know how difficult these decisions are as my girls father passed away last November. I made sure the girls were there and involved (they are 17 and 15 at this time) and it was so hard, but you are making the right decision. I know I will miss Lovely Edith, all I have ever known from her was kindness and support. Every personal letter she emailed to me was so filled with love for me, a sister she hadn't met in person, only in cyber space. I look forward to hugging her in the kingdom and will treasure the memories of such a wonderful sister.
Thank you so much for keeping us informed on Sis. Edith's condition. We will miss her on Sister-Friends. She has give so much wonderful loving advice to us sisters. You must be very proud of your mother. I too, look forward to meeting her in the kingdom. May God hold all of Edith's family close and give you peace. Love to all the family, Judy Ross
