Is My Face Red?

Last year, my mother mis-communicated a date for some work on her teeth. This is the email she sent out.

Is my face red!! I saw the date on the menu today and it turns out that I will not be having surgery next weekend - I am scheduled for Nov 1st. I hope to get a desk calendar that shows one day that you tear off each night so I can keep up with the dates better. Hugs Edith/Mother

The rest of the story? She bought that calendar and it stayed beside her bed until she passed away. I went through that calendar to see what was scheduled for the future. There was nothing, but the past was on the calendar.

So sweet! I just came across this blog, so who knows if it's still active, as it's obviously been quite a few years since they were published. My fascination came from articles I googled about Texas bats. I decided to read the story you published about a Big brown bat in your neighborhood. While scrolling through some of the other blogs posted, I came across the ones about "Edith", which I understand was your mother. From a fellow Texan, Edith is not a common name here. I've only heard it 4 times in my lifetime... One of those happens to be my mother. It is her name as well. Edith Leona. She prefers "Edie". Her great aunt I think, was also Edith, hence my mom's name. That's two instances, and then a friend's mother, whom also goes by "Edie"... and now reading this blog, which I see as a beautiful tribute to your mother, and all the Ediths' in the world! :) Thank you.
